Ingredients worth knowing
Water, Mango, Sugar, Stabilizer – Pectin (INS 440), Citric Acid (INS 330), Natural Mango Flavour, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C / INS 300), Permitted Preservatives (Sodium Metabisulfite – INS 223, Potassium Sorbate – INS 202), Salt, Natural Colour – Beta-Carotene (INS 160a(ii)), Sodium Citrate (INS 331). 25% Fresh Fruit Juice. Refrigerate after opening and consume within 3 days.
Beta-Carotene (INS 160a(ii))
Natural orange carotenoid colour, also a vitamin A precursor the body can convert. Approved food colour, low concern at food-use levels. Same pigment family as β-apo-8'-carotenal (INS 160e).
Pectin (INS 440)
Natural fruit-derived thickener/gelling agent; also a source of soluble fibre. Very low concern.
Citric Acid (INS 330)
Naturally occurring fruit acid used as an acidulant. Well-studied, low concern; frequent intake from acidic drinks can contribute to dental erosion.
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) (INS 300)
Vitamin C, used here as a natural antioxidant/preservative. No concern — it's a nutrient.
Sodium Metabisulphite (INS 223)
A sulphite preservative/flour treatment agent. Can trigger reactions in sulphite-sensitive individuals and asthmatics — a declared allergen where used.
Potassium Sorbate (INS 202)
Widely used, well-studied preservative considered safe; can occasionally trigger mild sensitivity in preservative-sensitive individuals.
Sodium Citrate (INS 331)
Acidity regulator/buffering salt derived from citric acid. Low concern, minor sodium contributor.
